Jeep Discovery Roof Top Rack ( 20-24 Jeep Gladiator JT Hardtop ) - Hooke Road

I have a canopy camper on a Gladiator. I cannot use a full rack. Can't use a half rack either. Looked at this one for awhile since there isn't an option out there short of just roof rails. I took a chance and cut 16" off the rear. I now have a super short rack which extends slightly over my freedom panels yet secures to the rear rain channels. Had to add one of the cross slats to the front and relocate all 4 of the brackets. but it works, is solid, and looks good. Should be 4 stars due to need to modify. 5 stars because an idiot like me could make it work with just a reciprocating saw and some bed liner spray! Now all I have to do is remove another inch +/- .25" so that I can get the Freedom Panels off. Super close but not quite there. I could get them off with some effort and forcing which would risk scratching. No. I shall use my handy saw and adjust later! LOL

Easy assembly! I love that it won't cover the front area of my Gladiator when I take the front roof pieces off. Still a decent size for storage and quite sturdy.

This rack is the best deal you will find. I have a much more expensive JCR Offroad rack on my Wrangler, and the Hooke Road rack that I bought for the Gladiator is highly comparable in look and function for 1/4 the price. I wish it had a few more aluminum parts to reduce weight, and I wish it were 6” shorter so that it didn’t extend over the Freedom Panels, but all in all, this was a great find. It was very easy to assemble, and I like that it uses standard M8 bolts to mount accessories. I would definitely buy this again.

It's a very well-made rack. The problem is very inadequate packing! Just one plastic bag covering each metal part, all in a cardboard box without any foam or even paper to keep all the parts from moving and scraping. My box arrived ripped in 2 places (Fedex?) with one of the metal plates protruding out from the box. As expected, that part was bent. Almost every single part had paint chipped off its surface. I spent an hour touching up paint to prevent premature rust on the steel pieces, and straightening out the bent plates. What a pain in the .ss! Once assembled, the pieces fit together very well and makes for a nice, sturdy roof rack.
